After obtaining a doctorate in engineering from the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society in March 2009, he became an assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Akita University in April 2009. Since 2015, he has been at Chiba Institute of Technology. His specialty is basic research on rocket propulsion engineering and combustion engineering, as well as conducting rocket launch experiments as applied research. He conducts fundamental research towards realizing offshore and mid-air rocket launches. He is a technical advisor for AstroX Inc. and a co-founder of Rocket Link Technology Co., Ltd.
